Forty-five years ago, East West Communities pioneered the concept of a master planned community with Brandermill, located just outside of Richmond, Virginia. Situated on a 1,700-acre lake, Brandermill was one of the first financially successful planned communities to combine homes with offices, schools, churches, shopping, and a collection of recreational opportunities. Brandermill is an undisputed success. In 1977, East West Communities received the first of many national accolades when Brandermill was named “The Best Planned Community in America” by the National Association of Home Builders. Today, East West is the only developer in the country that has EVER won three “Best Communities in America” awards!
